Leasons learned from the last 7 days…

  • You may check and test your texts, html codes and web pages as much you like. As long as your project isn’t going online, you won’t find all the small little typos, layouting problems or *bugs* of your code.
  • Sleep is overrated
  • The more platforms you have on which you propagate your content (Flickr, Facebook,Twitter, Blog, website, friends blogging about you), the more possibilities stand in getting your point through to different people.
  • Never estimate  family-connections :)
  • Do not delete a wordpress template over an ftp client, when you actually have it selected as default template in the administrator tool of your blog ;)
  • Have I already mentioned, how overrated sleep is?
  • It is always a good idea to repeat to yourself the aim of your project and stay focussed on it: Let the picture at friendswithvisions.com grow containing photos of all people sympathising with the root idea of ‘infinitely together is wonderful’: natural integration in our communities of people with special needs

Ok, now that we know all above, we are thrilled to see what we learn from the second week in our project.

Until then, enjoy the photos in our flickr and Facebook groups…

Uups… when stupid typos result in questioning acceptance

In our sprint on creating the online presence for the project infinitely together is wonderful we’ve tried to take very good care on how we explain our goals and beliefs.

So we have setup the pages, blog, groups and twitter accounts, invited our friends and were very happy to see people reacting on our request by joinging the groups and posting  their photos there.

Our live picture though.. at friendswithvisions.com was not growing as  we’d expect. At least not as quick as the group photos in Flickr and Facebook grew. So the question arises… why is that? How come people would join our group but would decide not to go all the way and send us their pictures per email? Where did we go wrong?

Well… the answer to this was in our case an… uups :) In some of our invitations mentioning the email address where you should send your photos we had a stupid title typo. Sorry :( So here you are once again. The email address: picture@friendswithvisions.com

(This time we’ve double and tripple checked it before posting… :)

What a start:)

Wow, we are so excited… at day one of our ‘infinitely together‘ project going online we have 26 new members in our Facebook group, 30 in Flickr and more than 80 photos so far!  That’s wonderful… this is exactly what we mean by infinitely together is wonderful.

Thanks for participating, thank for sending us your photo or this of  your friend, relative, team mate, people with or without special needs.

Thanks for spreading the good news, thanks for helping us…

BTW… this way to the growing picture

vielen vielen Dank an euch alle:)

Renata, Dagmar, Rita, Joerg, Martina, Elke, Martin, Tina, Evangelia u.v.m

infinitely together is wonderful

Everybody knows someone who is *special*. A sister, brother, friend, neighbor or team mate. People with special needs are everywhere, they live together with us and are part of our life.

We are a small group of friends and people in question trying to show that we all live together in this community. Having things in common makes us part of the same community, no matter where in the world.

Here in Germany we commit ourselves to this aim. We develop right now a photo book about joung people with a handicap. We want to show how happy they are and that they belong naturally in our life.

While some say “who cares?”, our supporter group grows more and more. They are people who share our perseption and our believe that the integration of people with special needs in our communities is very important as we all belong infinitely together.

We founded groups in Flickr and Facebook because we want to create the big picture for our vision. A picture visualising our being and living together no matter with or without our all ‘small’ problems. A picture to be shown to the whole world :) and this is where we need your help.

If sympathising and want to say ‘yes, we all live infinitely together‘ send us a picture of you. Ask your friends, relatives, people you know with special needs if they want to send their picture too, or you may sent it to us.

All pictures will be put together and layouted at “friendswithvisions.com” Something wondefully great is about to happen. Post your pictures in this group, write in the comments, send an email directly to picture@friendswithvisions.com and don’t forget to tell your friends all about it.

Everyday brings more pictures. More pictures of people saying “infinitely together is wonderful”

a great thanks to all of you :)

Renata, Dagmar, Rita, Joerg, Martina, Elke, Martin, Tina, Evangelia and many others…

…one last thing

this is not a donation call… we are a very small group of people wanting to do a change by the use of our own limited means. We can do even more together with you.

If you want to help, just send us an email to info@friendswithvisions.com

Maybe there will be people or companies wanting to support this project financially. This would be wonderfull. Our possibilities of helping people in need grow Cent by Cent.
